Your size.
Your length.

A simple size and inseam guide for tall women. Start with your measurements. Finish with your preferred fit.

Tall fit.
Part by part.

Six reference points for understanding tall women’s pants: waist, front rise, thigh, knee placement, leg opening and inseam.

Tall pants line drawing with measurement guide lines

Size without extra width.

The waistband should suit your waist without requiring a larger size just to gain length.

From crotch to waistband.

Front rise is measured along the front seam from the crotch seam intersection to the top of the waistband. It helps explain where pants sit.

Ease for everyday movement.

Room around the upper leg affects comfort and silhouette. The amount of ease varies between fitted and relaxed styles.

Shaping along a longer leg.

In shaped styles, the knee and the start of a flare should align with the leg rather than sit too high.

The finish at the hem.

The width at the hem helps define a straight, wide or flared leg and how the pants fall over your shoes.

Length from crotch to hem.

Measure along the inside leg seam. Freejoy offers 34″ and 36″ inseam options; compare a pair you like and your preferred hem.

Illustrative guide lines, not a graded pattern or product measurements. Fit and proportions vary by style.

A size for your body.
A length for your legs.

Use your body waist and hip measurements to choose a size. Choose your inseam separately.

Waist

Measure around your natural waist. Keep the tape level and comfortably close.

Hips

Measure around the fullest part of your hips, keeping the tape level.

Body measurements, not garment dimensions. Available sizes and fit vary by product. Check the product page before choosing.

Measure a pair
you already love.

Use a pair that fits the way you want your new pants to fit.

  1. Lay them flat

Smooth the pants on a flat surface without stretching the fabric.

  2. Follow the inside seam

Measure from the crotch seam intersection down the inside leg to the bottom of the hem.

  3. Check the finish

Note your shoes and where the hem falls: cropped, at the ankle or full length.

34″ or 36″?
Let length lead.

These are garment inseams. Compare them with your favorite pair, then consider the style and shoes.

34″

86.4 cm

Consider this option when your preferred garment inseam is close to 34 inches.

36″

91.4 cm

Consider this option when your preferred garment inseam is close to 36 inches.

A 2-inch difference — approximately 5.1 cm. The same inseam can sit differently in a wide leg, straight leg or flare.

This compares lengths, rather than predicting fit.

Can I choose my inseam from my height?

Height is only a starting point. Leg proportions, rise, shoes and your preferred hem also matter. Compare a garment inseam you already like.

Should I choose size or inseam first?

Start with your body waist and hip measurements. Then choose the available inseam on the product page.

Do all styles fit the same?

No. Rise, leg shape, fabric and ease can change the feel of a style. Use this general chart with the product’s fit and fabric details.

What if I am between sizes?

Compare both waist and hip measurements with the chart. Review the product’s fit and fabric details before choosing; the chart does not guarantee fit.

Can I return a size that does not fit?

You may request a return within 30 days of delivery, subject to the returns policy.
